The 3rd one is where the story actually gets good. Have you seen the movies? You can see the change there too.
I did see the change. I will add it to my list. :D

Yah. Everyone I talk to that I convince to watch or read had stopped at the 2nd one. The second one was really a terrible one.

Martin is a genius, the "A song of ice and fire" series is brilliant, Although seeing a bit of a downfall in the most recent one, the first 3 are worth risking the chance that the series may be seeing its end. As burd said, check out the release on hbo real soon!, while i highly recommend just picking up the books and drowning yourself in awesomness...ness
I have a new reason to love you anderson. You should def read the mistborn trilogy and a name of the wind ( series is called the king killer chronicles). Both are great reads and awesome characters

Did you know the fifth book a dance with dragons comes out in july. I ws hoping this show would make him finish the series. And it did. I thought the last book was okay too but can't wait to read the next
Hmm ill have to check those out, ive been looking to find a new book to start reading, and yes i knew that! cant wait its only been forever. The last one wasnt bad, it just was far off par of the first 3, but if you look into his reasoning of how and why everything happened i guess its understandable, doesnt change the fact that its an amazing series.

The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind is a pretty good series that i just finished.

I just picked up The Wheel of Time series. both of those are fantasy based.

The Dragonlance Chronicles and the Dragonlance Legends, both 3 book series, are pretty good.

R.L. Salvatore has a few good ones if you have read/played anything from Baulder's Gate.

If you like Merlin type things you could look into The Lost Years of Merlin. either a 6 or 7 book series about Merling growing up and what not.

Terry Brooks has some i liked. 3 different Shanarrah series. As well as a series which the first book is Running with the Demon. dont remember the other two books.

The Hunger Games books were good as well. I think i am done now lol
