Ok, so I need/want a tablet, but I don't really know which one would give me most bang for my buck. If you guys care to put in your two cents, that's be great! Money isn't really an issue seeing as I'll be getting a grant from my school.

The iPad is just a big toy....I mean I love it, but as far as tablet's go it is just a really nice toy. Not for work or school!

Why a tablet and not just a regular laptop?

The iPad would be nice if I didn't already have an iTouch. Imo, it's basically the same thing. It just isn't that great of a tablet for school lol.
I want a tablet because 1) I have a decent laptop that fulfills all my laptops needs and 2) because it'd be so much easier to just get an online copy of music, put it on my piano, and play it from there off of a tablet vs setting up a rig for my laptop and looking back and forth.
Tablets seem so much more versatile when it comes to the college life I have ahead of me, and again, I already have this laptop.

What's an iTouch?
I hear good things about the Archos series of tablets. One of the nice things about them is that you can get them in a few different sizes, from like 5-8 inches.
Toshiba is supposed to have a pretty nice one coming out next month or October, so you may want to wait a bit.
If you get an Archos, just make sure you get one of the newer ones running Android. Also, that Toshiba runs Android too, if that makes a difference to you.

Yeah, I've seen that Toshiba one, the Folio 100. I've also heard great stuff about the Archos. We'll see what happens when that Toshiba comes out, until then, thank you all

FWIW, there is apparently a 9 inch Archos too.
