opinions...thoughts?

so lately i have been considering joining the military (army) any thoughts about the whole idea? or do any of you know anyone who is, or was, in it at the moment and how do they like it?

Much respect to anyone who joins the military.
I work with lots of military and have friends/family that are serving or have served. Their experiences vary hugely. Its crazy. Some people talk about how much they don't like it and can't wait to get out, others talk about how wonderful it was. I have family that joined the airforce at 18 and were able to retire at 38. That's pretty badass.
