Late to the party here, but I figure I'll throw in my two cents anyway.

With laptops you generally get either good battery life or you get good performance. It's hard to balance the two, especially with screens above 15". If you want a fast laptop with a big screen, you're going to need to plug it in most of the time, there is a reason that these kinds of laptops are referred to as desktop replacements.

Want a balance between performance and portability?

Want to go all out with performance in your price range?

Somewhat of a middle-ground between the other two.

You aren't late i still haven't gotten one yet, I still have about a week before I actually get it.

I don't care it the screen is 20" or 15" as long as it works great and will last me a few years, and of course most importantly will work with Diablo 3(when it comes) and all my other games.

THANK YOU EASY. I was wondering when someone would bring newegg into this. I like the 15.6 in. ASUS. Probably getting the best value for your money.

I know many people with toshiba's and they are mostly happy with them but I have never heard of anyone not liking their ASUS.

The ibuypower site is good, I almost bought mine from there, but if you have to stick to your budget strictly then you will have to go with something like the CZ models.

No matter what you get make sure the hard drive is at least 7200rpm, not 5400.

And as far as D3 is concerned. I wouldn't be worried about that coming out this decade,
not the way Blizzard works. xD

Asus ftw! But keep in mind when I bought my laptop it was cheaper at best buy than it was on newegg.
